Celebrate With Us As We Cut the Ribbon at Our New Location

STAUNTON, October 2, 2026 – After more than six successful years at their Wharf location, The Well Balanced Paw is excited to announce their relocation to a larger store at 212 N. Central Avenue in Staunton. To celebrate this move, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on October 15th at 11 AM.

Founded by Heather Leonard in 2020, The Well Balanced Paw has become a favorite destination for local dogs and cats. It offers a unique "barkery," a bakery designed specifically for pets, along with pet food, toys, nutrition consultations, and therapeutic massage services. The new location, which was once home to a Chevrolet and Oldsmobile dealership in the 1930s and 40s, has undergone extensive renovations to create a vibrant and welcoming shop featuring a retro pet theme.

"We are thrilled that this move allows us to better serve pets and their families in Staunton," says Leonard. "This expansion provides us with more retail space and ample parking, as well as the opportunity to host events that connect pet owners with fun activities and educate them on caring for their pets."

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is sponsored by the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce. After the ceremony, guests are invited to enjoy light refreshments and special treats for their four-legged companions. Members of the public, local business owners, and media representatives are warmly welcomed to attend.
